Privacy

KIplatz is an AI that stores as little about you as possible. You do not need a real name. Everything personal stays with you.

Where things are kept, and for how long

WhatWhereHow long
Conversations, files, images, memory, skills, settings, private sourcesonly on your PCuntil you delete them
Conversations, if you switch on “Gespräche auf allen Geräten” (conversations on all devices)on the community server, end-to-end encrypted: readable only by your devicesuntil you delete them or switch it off
Files that you fetch to your phone with Ask your homeon the server only in transit, encrypted, it cannot read themuntil you pick them up, 24 hours at most
ID of your device as a check value, device name, credits, counterson the community server in Viennauntil you leave
your question, when another PC answerson the community serveruntil the answer arrives, 24 hours at most
general knowledge questions with a checked answer, without nameson the community server, encryptedthey stay
Log against faults, internet address shortenedon the community server7 days
Reportson the community server, with text and device IDuntil they are done

The program only reads what you put into it yourself. If you ask for a file from one of your devices, your PC searches your folders by name and date; it leaves out system folders, hidden files and password vaults. The sound from the microphone is deleted after it has been understood and never leaves the PC.

Who sees your text

If another PC answers for you, it receives the question, the last messages and your switched-on skills. The route is encrypted, and your name, device name, address and place are missing. The server removes email addresses, phone numbers and account numbers beforehand.

The answering PC does not display other people's questions and does not store them. No program recognises names in text. Whether you write any in is up to you.

Tip

The page “Was verlässt meinen Rechner” (what leaves my computer) shows every connection live, where to and what for, without contents. What is not listed there does not leave your PC.

The program page “Was verlässt meinen Rechner” with the explanation and the list of the latest connections
Every connection at a glance.

When a question has to go onto the internet

Only if your question calls for it, and without your name. A weather service sees the name of the place, a news source only the request. A search engine receives the text of the question as a search term, sent from the address of the answering PC. On your phone, a map service sees your location, but only after your yes.

We do not pay for any of these services and pass on nothing beyond the question. You can switch off looking things up under “Einstellungen” (settings) in the card “Nachschauen im Internet” (looking things up on the internet).

Information and deleting

  1. In the program, open “Meine Community” (my community) and find the card “Deine Daten am Server” (your data on the server).
  2. Click “Was der Server über dieses Gerät weiß” (what the server knows about this device).
  3. If you want to get rid of everything, click “Aus der Community austreten” (leave the community) and confirm. Name, credits and counters are deleted at once.

What you looked up for everyone stays, without your name. We delete everything else on an informal message. You can complain to the Austrian data protection authority. More under Leave and remove the program.

Website, forum and workshop

The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from outside servers. It counts page views anonymously, without the internet address and without the full browser ID; only figures such as country, browser and phone or PC remain. For an account, the forum and the workshop store an email address, a check value of the password, posts and short logs. No other member sees your email address. Messages from the contact form are kept without the internet address and for 30 days at most.
