How do I join?

You download the program as a ZIP, unpack it and click KIplatz. It needs no administrator rights and runs on Windows 11. You create your account in the forum, with an e-mail address and a password.

1. Get the ZIP, unpack it, start "KIplatz". No admin rights, Windows does not ask; the checksum is above if you want to compare it.
2. The program sets itself up in your user folder and puts a shortcut on the desktop. You can delete the unpacked folder.
3. Name your PC, ask, switch on "Share computing power". Your account for forum and workshop: forum.kiplatz.at.

Any Windows computer is enough for asking

Without a strong graphics card, a free computer in the community answers for you. With a graphics card of 6 GB or more (tested: NVIDIA RTX 4050) your computer answers itself and downloads a model of 2 to 5 GB once for that (Ministral 3, Apache 2.0). For working on the community's knowledge a simple processor and 6 GB of memory are enough; that is how it runs on one of our notebooks with an AMD Athlon. On the phone you ask through a web page; the program shows you the sign-in link under "My community".

Works while you are away, pauses while you work

Switched on, your computer works on the community's knowledge and answers other members' questions if it is strong enough. Under "Share computing" you set how much it may take; on battery the work pauses by itself. Pause and Stop take effect at once. The program fetches updates itself, checks the signature and restarts. Every connection it opens is listed under "What leaves my computer".

Gone again in one click

"Remove program" under Settings takes the program off the computer. "Leave the community" under "My community" deletes everything on the server that belongs to your device. Your conversations stay with you.

Tested on three of our own devices

The program runs on three of our computers with Windows 11 Home and Pro. Windows 10, Mac and Linux are not tested. The answers are as good as the models and the sources; what KIplatz does not know, it says. You report a mistake in the program with one click. The program itself speaks German for now; English follows.

Checked on 21 September 2026 against build 2026-09-20g. Build and checksum above come live from the community server. Windows 10 is not tested.
