KIplatz is an AI that belongs to a community. You ask, a member's computer answers, and the sources sit under every answer. Your own computer helps out when it has nothing else to do, and you decide when and how much. KI is German for AI; the community is German-speaking first, English is welcome.
The numbers come live from the community server. Without JavaScript you can see them in the program under "My community".
With the big providers, every question ends up in a data centre in the United States. Here it runs on a member's computer, passed on by our server in Vienna. If your computer has a strong graphics card, it answers itself. If not, a free computer in the community takes your question without learning who asked. The server keeps the question only until the answer has been collected.
The models are freely licensed (Ministral 3 by Mistral, Apache 2.0) and run with us, not with a provider. When KIplatz cannot find something in its sources, it says so instead of making something up.
A computer that is online with us works for the community. It indexes the shared sources, writes a summary with questions and answers for every section, and a second computer checks the result. Early in the morning it fetches weather and headlines so the first question of the day is answered quickly. And it answers other members' questions if it is strong enough.
You set the limits: how much processor, when to pause; on battery the work pauses by itself. The stop button ends it at once. Every piece of work earns credits. Credits are recognition and priority for answers, not money and not a cryptocurrency.
Create an account in the forum with your e-mail address and a password. Get the program for Windows. Start: ask, talk, share computing power. We publish the source code as soon as the licence is confirmed by a lawyer.
We are many from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. No advertising, no trade in data, no sign-in through Google. What is built is on this page.
