What does everyone ask first?
The questions our first members asked, with the answer that is true. If yours is missing, write to support@kiplatz.at.
Does KIplatz cost anything?
No. The program, the answers and the community are free. There is no paid tier and no credits to buy.
Is there a cryptocurrency or a token?
No, and it stays that way. Credits are a number in your account that gives priority for answers. They can be given away but not bought, sold or paid out.
Do I earn money with it?
No. Credits are recognition and priority for answers, not money: they cannot be bought, sold or paid out.
What does it cost me in electricity?
Your computer only works when you have switched it on and it has nothing else to do, within the limits you set. On battery the work pauses by itself. We do not have measured figures for power use yet; as soon as we have measured them on our own devices, they go here.
Does anyone see my questions?
The computer that answers your question sees the text of the question but not who asked: no name, no address, no location. The server keeps the question only until the answer has been collected. Whatever you write into a question is in there, though; do not put names or passwords in it.
How good are the answers?
As good as the sources, and every answer shows you: under the text are the excerpts, and a traffic light shows per sentence whether it comes from a source. For general knowledge without a source KIplatz is sometimes too cautious. More on how KIplatz answers.
Do I need a strong graphics card?
Not for asking: without a graphics card a free device in the community answers for you. With a graphics card of 6 GB or more your computer answers itself. For working on the knowledge a simple processor and 6 GB of memory are enough.
Does it run on Mac or Linux?
Not yet. The program runs on Windows 11; Windows 10 is not tested. On the phone you ask through a web page, whatever phone you have.
What happens when I leave?
"Leave the community" in the program deletes at once everything on the server that belongs to your device: name, credits, counters. "Remove program" under Settings takes the program off the computer. Your conversations stay with you. You are welcome back any time.
Where is the server, and who is behind it?
The server is at IPAX in Vienna. Behind it is a community, not a corporation. Name and address of the responsible person are in the Impressum (German).
Can I help build it?
Yes. You can write skills in the program today; the workshop with the source code opens after the forum. If you want to start earlier, write to support@kiplatz.at.
