How the community is organised
KIplatz is a community built around three things: talking, building along and helping. One account with one profile is enough for all three.
Forum, workshop and program
| Place | Address | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| The forum (Platzl) | forum.kiplatz.at | Talking: ask questions, introduce yourself, groups and meetings |
| Workshop | werkstatt.kiplatz.at | Building along: reports, ideas, skills and guides |
| Program | on your PC | Helping: share computing, check answers, mistake of the week |
The workshop manages the accounts. The forum, the program and the website sign you in through it, so you sign in once and it works everywhere. You set your password and two-factor sign-in in this one place. Talking and building along have been open since 21 September 2026.
Join in 3 steps
- Create an account in the workshop, with an email address, with Google or with GitHub. The confirmation arrives by email.
- Sign in to the forum with the same account and introduce yourself briefly: which PC you have and what you want to do with AI.
- In the program, go to “Meine Community” (my community) and sign in with “Mit KIplatz-Konto anmelden” (sign in with KIplatz account). Then you can ask, help and report mistakes.
The details are on the page Create an account and sign in.
Groups for clubs, schools and hobbies
A group is a place for people who have something in common: a university, a club, a hobby, a region. It can be open or closed and can announce its own meetings, from an online get-together to a hackathon. One post in the category “Gruppen” (groups) in the forum is enough, and your group has its place.
With us, you are somebody
Every report gets an answer and a name. If you let your PC work for others, you appear in the leaderboard, under the name you give your device. If you contribute a skill, a source, a check or a fix, you appear too, on the page Who builds along. How the leaderboard counts is explained under Credits.
Mistake of the week
In the program, under “Meine Community” (my community), members collect what the big AI assistants answered wrongly and what is correct. With “Einen Fund eintragen” (add a find) you enter the question, the wrong version and the right version, and if you like, where the right one can be found. Every week we pick one case. These cases show whether our AI is getting better.
Rules from the start
- The button under every post is called “Danke” (thanks). There is no downvoting.
- If you reject something, you say why in one sentence. Newcomers get help, not a telling-off.
- Badges only exist for first steps and for helping, no daily streaks and no contests.
- The house rules apply everywhere: nothing that hurts people or is illegal, no texts, images or music that belong to others.
Good to know
Coming next are a month of reports every year and an annual letter with open figures on who took part and who helped.
How you build along yourself is explained under Build along.
