Build along
KIplatz is an AI that anyone can build along with, even without programming. You start with a skill in 10 minutes or a report in the workshop.
Steps up to a core contribution
| Step | What you do | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Write rules as a skill and share them | Skill collection in the forum |
| 2 | Report a mistake | Mistake of the week, a reply to your report |
| 3 | Contribute a source | shared knowledge, daily summary |
| 4 | Suggest a fix or a check | your own report, news |
| 5 | Build a component along | annual letter |
Whoever contributes something appears by name on Who builds along. What is needed right now is listed under Help out.
Rules in everyday language
A skill is a folder with a file called SKILL.md: name and description at the top, then rules, written as you would tell them to a person. It follows an open format that other AI assistants can read too.
- In the program, open the page “Skills” and write your skill.
- Try it out in a conversation.
- Pass it on as a ZIP or submit it in the workshop. After a check, every member gets it in the program.
The full guide is under Create skills.
Reports, ideas and the guides
In the workshop at werkstatt.kiplatz.at you find the project KIplatz/mitbauen. There you report mistakes, bring in ideas and ask questions, with a template for each. A report in the workshop shows how it works. The latest reports appear on our home page.
You may also improve the guides in the folder doku. With “Fork” you get your own copy, you change the file there, and a “Pull Request”, which is a suggested change, sends it back. It is read and either accepted or returned with a reply.
Good to know
The source code of the program and the service is not kept there, it stays with us. The program comes ready built and signed from kiplatz.at.
Sandbox and interface for tinkerers
The sandbox is the program to play with, separate from the real community. If you want to go deeper, sign up in the workshop. There is a practice environment with throwaway data.
Through the interface, your own tools can ask our AI. You switch it on under “Einstellungen” (settings) in the card “Andere Programme dürfen KIplatz fragen” (other programs may ask KIplatz). The door is only open on your own PC and cannot be reached from the network. Every question goes through the house rules and gets the knowledge of the community added. You find examples under For developers.
Safety before speed
The order is safety, privacy, correctness. A suggestion that is faster but weakens one of these does not go in. Neither does one without a green test run.
