What is changing at KIplatz: in the program, on the website, in the forum and the workshop.
Ask your home: your files from the PC at home on your phone
The invoice or the job application is on the PC at home, and you are out and about. Now you tick "Search my files" on your phone and ask as usual, for example "Where is my job application?" Your PC at home searches your folders and shows the matching files with folder and date. What you tick, you fetch to your phone.
This needs no cloud. Nothing is uploaded beforehand, and a file only travels encrypted and only when you fetch it. You connect phone and PC once with a QR code. How exactly it works is at your files from anywhere.
Home page with a trial question, contact form, wiki
The home page now shows a real window: if you like, you ask a question without an account and a device of the community answers. Two questions a day per visitor, after that you continue with an account.
Also new: a contact form on "About us" and "Contact", photos instead of text on the main pages, the documentation is now called the wiki, and the project for building along is called KIplatz/mitbauen. The website, the forum and the workshop share the same header and footer.
kiplatz.at, the forum and the workshop are online
The website is here, with 14 pages and documentation in 12 chapters. At forum.kiplatz.at the community joins the conversation, at werkstatt.kiplatz.at it builds along. One account works for both and for the program; signing in with an existing account works too.
You can join in from now on; the big announcement comes when all the parts are in place.
The name is KIplatz
The project has a name, a logo with six people and a colour, green. The AI in the program has the same name.
One thing is also settled: no data centre. The server relays, and the shared knowledge is stored in slices on the members' devices.
Speaking instead of typing, a symbol by the clock
The program understands spoken questions: the microphone only runs between two clicks, visibly red, and the sound stays on the device. In the background a symbol by the clock shows whether the device is working for the community right now.
Also new is "Ask the screen": the AI sees what you are looking at, when you expressly want it to.
The first question through the server
A small laptop asks, a laptop with a graphics card answers, relayed by the server in Vienna: 13.4 seconds. Since that day the members' devices answer questions for one another.
Also new: the house rules, a word filter and reporting with one click, and looking things up on demand for weather and headlines.
The AI in the window
The first window for asking questions, on your own PC, with a line under every answer: where the excerpts come from, which device answered and how long it took.
Credits exist from day one: recognition and priority, no money.
The wiki and the English pages get the new design, the program learns from the members' ratings, and the first progress curve shows whether the AI is getting better. What is finished will be added here.
