Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use KIplatz, including with a screen reader, with the keyboard only or with weak eyesight.
This statement applies to the website kiplatz.at, the program for Windows and the app at kiplatz.at/app.
Perceivable, operable, understandable, robust
Perceivable
All content can be taken in with the eyes, by hearing or by touch.
Images have a description, and color is never the only sign.
Operable
Everything also works without a mouse, with the keyboard alone.
There is no time limit for reading or writing and nothing that blinks.
Understandable
We write short sentences in everyday language and explain every technical term.
Menu and buttons are in the same place on every page.
Robust
The pages work with every common browser and with assistive tools such as screen readers.
The structure follows the standard, not one particular browser.
Font, contrast, keyboard and screen reader
Font for weak eyesight
Atkinson Hyperlegible was designed for exactly this. Text can be enlarged to double size without anything being cut off.
Enough contrast
Every text stands out from the background by at least 4.5 to 1, in the light and in the dark window.
Visible focus
A green frame shows where you are with the keyboard. A skip link at the start of every page leads straight to the content.
Screen reader
Every field and every button has a name that is read aloud. Messages from the program are announced.
Backing as text
How many sentences of an answer are backed is written as text under “Details zur Antwort”. Nothing depends on a color.
Calm pages
If you have set less motion in your system, you see no animations. Headings are in the right order, tables have header rows.
Scope, standard and deadlines
How we test
We recalculated the contrast for every color pair and walked through every page and every screen with the keyboard ourselves.
In addition, a checking program runs over all pages with every build. If a name or an image description is missing anywhere, it stops the build before the page goes online.
Forum and workshop
The forum and the workshop run on their own software, which brings its own accessibility rules. Our header bar and footer there have been checked.
Anyone who works with a screen reader every day and helps us test is warmly welcome. A short word via contact is enough.
Speaking, images, reading aloud
In the program you can speak instead of typing. Typing always works, of course.
Answers from the AI come as text, and your screen reader reads them aloud. The AI describes attached images in the conversation.
Status of this statement
Created on 23 September 2026 after our own check. We keep it up to date as soon as anything changes on the website or in the program.
The rules apply to us regardless of whether the accessibility act obliges us to.
