Your first question
You ask KIplatz your first question as in any chat. What is different is what stands under the answer: where it comes from and how well each sentence is backed up.
Ask and send
- Click “Neues Gespräch” (new conversation) on the left, or just write into the empty window.
- Type what you want to know into the field “Frag „KIplatz“ etwas …” (ask KIplatz something). You start a new line with Shift + Enter.
- Press Enter or click the send button.
The text arrives word by word. With the button “Antwort stoppen” (stop answer) you halt it. You can keep writing in the meantime: with Enter you queue the next message, and it goes out right after.
Tip
If it says “Die KI ist ausgeschaltet.” (the AI is switched off) at the top, click “KI einschalten” (switch AI on). The first time, it fetches the files it needs, which takes a few minutes.
Marks behind the sentences
Under “Details zur Antwort” you can see how many sentences come from the sources, how many KIplatz concludes from them and how many come from its own knowledge. The text itself carries no marks. More under How the AI answers.
The line under the text
Right below it, you see “Stimmt das?” (is that right?) or, if sentences without a source are included, how many there are. Next to it you find 2 ways to check.
| Button | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Live im Netz nachprüfen” (check live on the web) | The community’s search looks up your question, the best pages are read, and a new version names them as sources. This takes seconds. |
| “Ein Mitglied fragen” (ask a member) | The question and the text go to a member without your name. The result appears here as soon as someone has time. |
If an address like news.at is in your question, exactly that page is read. If the search finds nothing, the window tells you so in one sentence instead of writing something without a source.
Below that are the buttons for rating with the thumb, for copying and for reading aloud. How the thumb down works is described under Correct an answer.
Details on the answer
A click on “Details zur Antwort” (details on the answer) opens a small list.
| Line | Content |
|---|---|
| Woher (where from) | in one sentence, where the text comes from |
| Quellen (sources) | each source with title and address, numbered |
| Geprüft (checked) | how many sentences come from sources, how many are conclusions and how many stand without a source |
| Erarbeitet von (worked out by) | which device answered and how long it took |
| Credits | what the question cost |
Good to know
“Geprüft” is a comparison with the excerpts, not a check of the truth. For important things, read the source yourself.
How to ask better is described under Asking well.
