Credits
Credits are the recognition at KIplatz for what your PC has done for others. They give your questions priority and put you on the leaderboard, but they are not money.
The basic rule
Every question to the community costs one credit, and whoever answers it receives it. Under every answer, “Details zur Antwort” (answer details) shows what it cost and who earned something for it.
What your PC earns something for
| Done | How it appears in the history |
|---|---|
| answered a question from another member | “Frage eines Mitglieds beantwortet” (question from a member answered) |
| prepared a batch of sections | “Abschnitte in Zahlen gerechnet” (sections turned into numbers) |
| deepened a section | “Abschnitt vertieft” (section deepened) |
| checked another PC’s deepening | “Vertiefung eines anderen Geräts geprüft” (another device’s deepening checked) |
| held and re-checked a slice of the shared knowledge | per slice and spot check |
| re-checked an answer on the page “Prüfen” (check) | per check |
You set up the work for the community on the page “Rechenkraft teilen” (share computing). The page “Prüfen” shows questions and answers that a member wants checked, without names. You read, look at the sources and say whether it is right. If in doubt, you choose “unsicher” (unsure).
Good to know
Part of every job goes to a second PC as well. If the results do not match, both are discarded. That way there is no pay for made-up work.
Priority when asking
Whoever does more for others is served sooner when the network is full. Whoever has no credits still gets an answer, just a little later.
Look at your balance
- Look at the bar at the bottom left. Your current balance is shown there as a number.
- Open the page “Meine Community” (my community). In the card “Deine Credits” (your credits) you see the balance, the rule and the latest entries with their reason.
- Open the page “Bestenliste” (leaderboard). At the top is “Dein Platz” (your place), below it the first three and the table of all PCs that have worked for others.
The leaderboard
The table shows, for each PC, the answered questions, the sections, the checks and the balance. It is ranked by credits, under the name the member gives their device. A place gives no rights, it only shows who has helped a lot. If your PC is missing from the list, switch on “Rechenkraft teilen” (share computing).
The same list is on the website’s leaderboard, and the top also under Who builds along.
Tip
If you are signed in to the program with your KIplatz account, balance and place count for the account, across all devices you are signed in on. How that works is under Create an account and sign in.
No money, no tokens
They cannot be bought, sold or paid out. They cannot be transferred either. In case of an error or misuse, they can be corrected. If you leave the community, the server deletes your balance together with your name and counters.
Which jobs your PC takes on is under What your PC does, and how much of it it may do under Set limits.
